News page is fixed. I had to change MYSQL_ASSOC to MYSQLI_BOTH.
One thing I am noticing with PHP 7.x is that if there is an error on the page such as in the included file storage/some_script.php, then the entire file will not run at all or even give you an error message. This can make debugging trickier.
Anyway, the other items on the debug list are not as important.
