Small update on the jerky. If the jerky is eaten soon after being taken out of the fridge, the jerky breaks apart much easier making it a much more enjoyable eating experience. The Jerky that I made lasted about 3 weeks and can easily be eaten as a meal if prepared right. The cost and nutritional value (I'm being subjective in my judgement here) is similar to ground hamburger.
