I just made my first batch of rice with my new Zojirushi rice cooker.  It's the gold standard in Japanese rice cookers and the rice is really quite good.  I tried to follow the directions with the small change that I cooked using expired long grain white rice, but it still turned out really good and tasty!  The rice is really light and fluffy.  It isn't dry, gritty, or mushy!  I mean, it is plain ol' rice and I am just chowing down on it!  Imagine if I actually did something with it!

I am happy with this new milestone in my cooking skill.

This is really a good stopping point in developing my cooking skills for now.  Now I can just enjoy the fruits of what I have learned so far.
