Just a
link to my ssd benchmark tests.
how to read the values
SEQ is important for gaming
4k is important for multitasking and the ability for your computer to run many background programs at once without slowing down. The numbers listed below are SEQ.
C: NVMe 660p 1TB, 1928 MB/s plugged into motherboard
D: Samsung 870 1TB, 559 MB/s connected via sata 3 cable
E: WD 250GB, 42 MB/s connected via docking port with USB 2.0
F: Samsung 860 1TB, 42 MB/s connected via docking port with USB 2.0
NVMe has a transfer rate of about
3,500 MB/s.
ref
SATA 3 cable has a transfer rate of
750 MB/s.
ref
USB 3.0 cable has a transfer rate of
625 MB/s.
USB 3.1 gen 1 has a transfer rate of
625 MB/s.
USB 3.1 gen 2 (which I also have) has a transfer rate of
1250 MB/s.
Is the bottle neck with the docking station or the port used? Will check it out later.
Update 6:56pm: It appears the bottle neck was from having the docking station attached to a USB 2.0 port. After plugging it into a USB 3.2 gen 2 port, the SEQ speed for
Drive E: went up to
448 MB/s, from
42 MB/s; a more than 10 fold increase.
For some reason, after I changed my wireless network adaptor from USB 3.2 gen 2 to USB 3.0, my internet speeds seem to be better, but I think there is still an issue going on with my wireless network adaptor, so I have ordered a new one.
